Tanya Burr: Nail polish review

(Tanya Burr nail polish in the colour 'Mini Marshmallows', 12ml)

As soon as I heard that YouTuber and beauty, fashion and lifestyle blogger Tanya Burr (one of my favourites ever) was going to release a line of nail polishes and lip glosses, I couldn't wait to get my hands on them and give them a whirl. On the day they came out I rushed online to feelunique to get choosing a product. In the end I went for the oh-so-gorgeous nail polish range, settling on the pink one of the bunch named 'Mini Marshmallows' (completely adorable or what!), priced at only £5.99 each! (pictured above). Due to the overwhelming popularity of the products, I had to wait around a week until I had it.

Last Wednesday the wait was over and I finally had my hands on the product. I had high hopes for this nail polish and the colour and look didn't disappoint!

The application of the product was reasonably easy and smooth and seemed to dry quicker than my usual drugstore alternative and once completely dried provided my nails with a gorgeous glossy finish (absolutely fab as I'm not one to apply top coats). After only just 2 coats, it produced a gorgeous baby/light pink colour which looked really pretty and sophisticated though slightly transparent. In the end, I applied around 3 - 4 coats of the nail polish to give me a really solid colour and ended up turning them into a strawberry milk type colour - perfect for the fast approaching spring! (see photo below) NOTE:  a top coat would be preferable as I've found that it dents quite easy (even after 30minuets+ drying time) which is incredibly frustrating!!

The next test was durability. As I mentioned previously, I don't usually add a top coat to my nail polish and therefore they're prone to chipping which is incredibly frustrating!!
For this nail polish however I did apply a top coat. 3 days after, they're not holding up okay but there are dents and chips in the thumbs and index fingers (not great)!
All-in-all, mildly impressed. It's a bit pricier than other alternatives and wasn't impressed that the polish dented eveb a couple of hours after applying it and after having let them dry properly!! As we speak I am taking the polish off to see how my nails are fairing and they feel fine! The polish hasn't dried them out, they feel good and haven't been damaged at all. Although not 100% impressed, I still want to try out the darker colours to see if the same can be said for them!
(This was taken in more natural light than the first couple - can you see what I mean about strawberry milk now? ha)

I look forward to trying out some of the other shades and give the lip glosses a whirl. All together there are 10 nail polish shades (only £5.99 each) coming in the super cute colours:
Peaches & Cream, Little Duck, Bright and Early, Mischief Managed, Riding Hood, Midnight Sparkles, New York Night, Penguin Chic, Mini Marshmallows and lastly Be bright, Be Happy (all of which can be purchased by clicking here).

Have you given them a try? If not, I would give them a swirl but don't get your hope up too much! Yes the colours are gorgeous and looks so so pretty on the nails, but I still need to find a way to prevent them for smudging an hour after even after applying a top coat - any tips?

Speak soon.
Love,
Harriet x

    1. Aha, I love watching their videos and reading their blog posts! I'm pretty sure they ship internationally from feelunique.com :) Hmm I'm usually a Barry M buyer and I would say that Barry M is better for durability and quickness on the drying front, however saying that I think Tanya's colours are amazing! x

    3. Good thinking. Same, I find it so frustrating when they seem to take half the day to dry - topshop nail varnish is super quick at drying :) No problem and I look forward to it x
